Deputies in DeKalb County arrest three on drug charges

Fernando Alanis and Osblando Alanis, both of Boaz were arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a search warrant was executed at a residence on County Road 9033 near Aroney. {}A third person, Miguel Ramos, of Albertville, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris says "I'm glad to have these suspects off the street. It appears there was quite a bit of drug activity around these men. We are checking on their status here while we wait on the ATF and FBI to pursue federal charges for the weapon and drugs. It is good to have these resources available at the local level. Once again I'm glad we are all able to work together across jurisdictional lines."

After a K-9 search of the residence, Officers found over 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, $1600.00 cash, and a firearm.{} The street value of the meth was valued at $4,000.

The suspects are being held at the DeKalb County Detention Center on state charges, federal charges are pending.
