Deputies uncover heroin, meth trafficking operation while serving warrant, 3 men arrested

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. -- Deputies arrested three men Wednesday morning after uncovering a drug trafficking operation while serving a warrant, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office announced today.

According to a release, deputies went to an apartment on Huffman Road to arrest a man on an outstanding warrant for the distribution of a controlled substance. After making entry into the residence, deputies found three men inside and a small amount of meth, prompting the authorities to obtain a search warrant and request assistance from narcotics investigators.

During a complete search of the apartment, deputies discovered $10,000 worth of drugs including 82 grams of meth and 12 grams of heroin. They also seized a handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The three men at the apartment were arrested and each charged with trafficking meth and heroin. Their bonds have been set at $500,000.

Suspects arrested are:

Cesar Cobos, 32, of Pelham; Mario Hernandez, 39,{} of Huffman; Saul Uscanga, 31, of Tarrant.
