DHS Awards $3.5 million to Alabama Health Care Centers

Health Care Centers in Alabama are set to receive more than $3.5 million in support from Affordable Care Act funding.

Department Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that the funding will help expand the delivery of health care services to more than 20,7000 Alabamians.

Sebelius says the funding comes from a national pool of about $150 million being used to expand services at more than 200 health care centers across the country.

Officials say the five health care centers in Alabama are expected to receive a portion of the $3.5 million.
