Diabetes Alert Day

More than 26 million Americans are diagnosed with Type II Diabetes every year. In fact, nearly one out of three children are at risk. The risk is even higher in minority children.

This is the American Diabetes Association Alert Day.{}

It's a "wake-up call" for Americans to take the diabetes risk test to find out if they are at risk for developing Type II Diabetes.

According to the ADA, seven out of ten people don't know their risk of developing diabetes.

Those with a family history, or who struggle with obesity and those who are older are most at risk.

UAB is hosting a GRADE study, to help determine what other drugs help treat diabetes.

The GRADE study is a national one, with more than 5,000 people needed to participate.
