Loyal Alabama football fan Dick Coffee Sr. dead at 91

Dick Coffee Sr. is dead at 91.

One of the University of Alabama football team's most loyal supporters has passed away.

Dick Coffee Sr., 91, died this week from unknown health complications. He was widely known as the Crimson Tide football fan who hadn't missed a game since 1946, and in 2010, ESPN named him the No. 1 college football fan in the country.

After serving in World War II, Coffee began his incredible streak while he was a freshman at Alabama, and he went on to attend nearly 800 consecutive regular season games and 50 straight bowl games.

Funeral services are tentatively planned for Tuesday, June 25 at Canterbury United Methodist Church beginning with a visitation at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor.
