Disabled Cruise Ship to Reach Port in Mobile

The Carnival cruise ship that's been without power since a weekend engine-room fire is expected to reach port this afternoon in Mobile, Alabama. The Carnival Triumph, with more than 4,000 people on board, is being towed from where it broke down in the Gulf of Mexico.{}{} {}Passenger Shannon Giordano tells her husband that because of limited access to bathrooms, plastic bags are being handed out. She says she waited in line for three hours to get a hot dog.

The Triumph is expected to arrive Thursday, but passengers' stay will be short. Carnival says passengers can board buses to Galveston, Texas, or Houston, or spend the night in New Orleans. Those staying in New Orleans will be flown Friday to Houston. Carnival said it will cover the transportation costs.
