Three people were arrested Friday after police were called to a home in DeKalb County on a report of domestic violence, but arrived to find a 1-year-old in a dangerous environment of drugs and a gun.
Juan Carlos Garcia-Moreno, 22, Viviana Elizabeth Garcia, 22, and Nicole Marie Francisco, 24, all of Kilpatrick, were arrested at the residence, charged with trafficking meth, unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers with the Crossville Police Department and DeKalb County deputies found the suspects with a .380 pistol, 60 grams of meth, packaged to be sold, a small amount of marijuana and over $1,000 in cash.
"These officers did a good job of following their instinct and evidence in this case." Sheriff Harris said in a news release. "This is a substantial amount of meth and was very obviously ready for sale. Street price for this much meth would be over $8,000."
Law enforcement called the Department of Human Resources to the scene to take the toddler into protective custody.
All three suspects are being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center as they await bond hearings.
