      Drug operation by Birmingham Police yields five arrests

      The Birmingham Police Department reports that five male suspects have been arrested after Narcotics Detectives conducted a drug operation at an area convenience store.

      Detectives set up a drug operation after receiving complaints from citizens pertaining to drugs being sold at Hood Convenience Store located on Dugan Avenue.{} Detectives observed individuals attempting to sell drugs and arrested five male suspects, including two teenagers.

      "When citizens work with law enforcement and refuse to allow drug sales or other illegal activity to flourish in communities, they help to improve their quality of life dramatically." Chief A.C. Roper stated in a release.

      The following five suspects are being held in Birmingham City Jail:

      Dominique Spears, B/M, 31, of Birmingham, Alabama.{} Spears has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Violation of State Firearms Act.

      Jason Perkins, B/M, 27, of Birmingham, Alabama.{} Perkins is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Loitering for Drugs.{}

      Jamal Sanders, B/M, 18, of Birmingham, Alabama.{} Sanders is charged with Violation of State Firearms Act.

      Tarrell Watson, B/M, 18, of Birmingham, Alabama.{} Watson is charged with Loitering for Drugs.

      Cadarius Williams, B/M, 22, of Birmingham, Alabama.{} Williams has been charged with Disorderly Conduct, Loitering for Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
