Easter Eggs Dropped from Helicopter at Thompson High School

It was raining Easter eggs Saturday morning in Alabaster.

Helicopters from the Hoover-based Express Helicopters company hovered over Thompson High School's football field, dropping thousands of Easter eggs onto the field.{}

Those in attendance say they enjoy taking part in the family friendly event.

"It's free, and it's something they have to do to celebrate the true meaning of Easter," says mother Jamie McCandless.

Cultivate Church hosted the egg drop.{} The church will host an Easter Service Sunday morning at Thompson High School.
