The Jefferson County Board of Education will hold two 3-hour active school shooter training sessions Wednesday in an attempt to help local school faculties develop a plan of action in the event of a crisis.

Participants will be led in discussions concerning recent school shootings and law enforcement officials will provide suggestions for handling crisis situations at schools. There will also be a simulated active school shooting situation followed by a de-briefing to discuss what happened and how to be better prepared.

Dale Stripling will serve as the project leader during the learning sessions that will be held at the Jefferson County Counseling Center.
