EPA representatives to tour north Birmingham this month

In north Birmingham, efforts continue to clean up and revitalize neighborhoods.

Birmingham City Councilor William Parker confirmed for ABC 33/40 Environmental Protection Agency representatives from Atlanta will be in Birmingham February 14.They will tour the Collegeville, Fairmont, and Harriman Park neighborhoods. Those areas were declared an EPA Superfund site because of pollutants.The EPA {}has already cleaned more than 1,000 contaminated properties in the neighborhoods. It is scheduled to clean more than 50 additional properties later this month.
