Esteban Toledo to be featured pro at Regions Tradition youth golf clinic

Golfer Esteban Toledo will get an early looking at the putting greens at Shoal Creek{} Club next week, when he is the featured Champions Tour professional at a junior golf clinic on Tuesday.The clinic, which includes hundreds of third-through-fifth grade students from Birmingham area schools, has become a regular event to kickoff the week of the Regions Tradition tournament at the course."What a tremendous opportunity these students have to learn about the sport from an experienced professional like Esteban Toledo," says John Hudson, who is the vice president of Alabama Power Public Relations and Charitable Giving. Alabama Power sponsor's the youth golf clinic."This clinic will integrate golf and education to teach students about nine very important core values for life."The junior clinic will focus on the nine core values of The First Tee program: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgement.Toledo is in his third season on the Senior Tour and won the Insperity Championship last season for his first tour win. He recently established a charity, The Esteban Toledo Family Foundation, which focuses on helping children by supplying basic needs such as shelter, food and education.The Regions Tradition tournament begins on Wednesday, May 14 at Shoal Creek Club. The first round is Thursday, May 15.
