      Exclusive look inside former Social Security Building

      For the first time, ABC 33/40 is getting a look inside Birmingham's former Social Security Building, which is also the site of a proposal for a new public safety headquarters.Several options have been mentioned as possibilities for the service, including the old Carraway Hospital and the former AmSouth building.Franklin Haney, owner of the SS building, says he has offered city leaders two options. They can either buy more than 263,000 sq. ft of space in the building for roughly $50 million or rent it at $139 million over a 30-year lease.
