Executive session expected to be called later this week over JeffCo attorney's future

A{}decision about Jefferson County's top county attorney is expected to be made within the next week. Jeff Sewell was put on paid leave Monday.

On Tuesday, commissioners admitted to butting heads with Sewell over legal issues. One even says Sewell often didn't present all options when it came to bankruptcy, particularly ones that would've brought more money into the county.

Commission President David Carrington has appointing authority over the county attorney's office. He made the decision to put Sewell on leave for "multiple issues on multiple fronts."

Sewell has worked for the county for nearly 30 years.

The commission is expected to go into executive session over Sewell's future later this week.
