Experts: Bacon shortage 'baloney,' but prices to rise

Experts say it's hogwash!

U.S. economists are dismissing reports about a global bacon shortage, that had headlines and twitter feeds sizzling last week.

The bacon scare was sparked by a European trade report that said a bacon shortage was unavoidable because of higher feed costs, related to a drought. The American Farm Bureau Federation calls the report baloney.

However, it says the drought could push-up prices for bacon and other pork products as much as 10 percent.
