Exploring "The Way We Worked"

A Smithsonian exhibit exploring how American's have worked over the last 150 years is making a stop in Pell City. "The Way We Worked" looks at life in Pell City and other St. Clair County towns.

The exhibit includes videos, photographs, and narratives highlighting mill town life in Pell City and other Alabama communities. Residents even contributed to the collection with their own pictures and artifacts.

The city doesn't have a museum, so the space was made available in the Center for Education and Performing Arts. Organizations and businesses donated services and money to make the exhibit possible, including funding from Alabama Power Company Foundation and Norfolk Southern Railroad.

People can visit the exhibit now through August 23rd. {}{}
