Fairfield police: Boy, 9, abducted by grandmother, Amber Alert issued (Update)

Fairfield Police Chief Leon Davis says the 9-year-old boy who was abducted Saturday night has been found in Mobile County.

"Rhashud Felix has been located by the Prichard Police Department with his grandmother," Davis said. "He will be taken into DHR protective custody. Investigation continues into this incident. No arrests were made."


FAIRFIELD, Alabama -- Fairfield police are investigating the alleged abduction of a 9-year-old boy Saturday night. According to Chief Leon Davis, Rhashud Felix was taken by his grandmother -- Tonja Felix -- from his home around 6:30 p.m., and the two may be en route to Mobile. The boy's grandfather -- Derrick Felix -- may be traveling with them in a 2008 Lincoln MKX, maroon in color, with the tag number "82PJ1." An Amber Alert has since been issued in Alabama. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the boy is asked to please call 911 or the Fairfield Police Department at 205-786-4111. The text of the Amber Alert reads as followed:"The State of Alabama has issued an Emergency Missing Child Amber Alert. The Fairfield Police Department and the Alabama Department of Public Safety ask for your assistance in locating Rhashud Felix, black, male, nine years old, four foot five, seventy five pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. Rhashud Felix was last seen on August 30th, at six thirty pm, in Fairfield, Alabama and is believed to be in extreme danger. Rhashud Felix was abducted by a female believed to be Tanja Felix. Tanja Felix is fifty three years old. She may be traveling in a 2008 Lincoln MKX, Alabama tag number 82PJ1, and may be traveling to Mobile, Alabama.
