Fairfield police arrest 20-year-old man on attempted murder charges in hit and run case
FAIRFIELD - AL —
A 20-year-old man has been arrested on attempted murder charges in connection with a hit-and-run incident on Monday, Fairfield police said.
Bryan Devon Davis Jr. is charged with two counts of attempted murder for allegedly intentionally running over two people at a bus stop off Highway 11. The victims -- Damien Whatley and Alexis Benjamin -- were rushed to UAB Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say they believe they know a motive in the case but details have yet to be released. Meanwhile, Davis remains jailed on bonds totaling $120,000.
