Fans and police officers get ready for Alabama vs. Auburn
TUSCALOOSA - AL —
For many Auburn fans, it just doesn't get any bigger than this.
Alabama fan, Rosemarie Wade, says "This game is like no other part of the season." She says, "For us it's just fun, its tradition."
Fans are ready and so are law enforcement officers.
Sgt.. Brent Blankley with the Tuscaloosa Police department says, "Our officers will be out trying to find people with counterfeit tickets." And it doesn't stop there. Blankley says over 160 officers will be inside and outside the stadium to make sure people stay safe. We just want everything to go without any problems, everybody enjoy the game, have a safe time at the game," says Blankley.
Campus police will work with Tuscaloosa officers to make sure out town fans have a smooth ride. Gena Johnson, UA Game day operations personnel says, "If you're coming from Birmingham stay off I-459, sometimes that backs up 8 miles."
Officer Blankley has some advice for both Alabama and Auburn fans. "No matter who wins or loses, act like an adult, listen to the police, we're here for the safety of people," says Blankley.
