Alabama fans chat at their Iron Bowl tailgates on Wednesday afternoon. (

Even before the turkey and dressing, parades, and shopping - Auburn and Alabama fans are gearing up for what many will call the biggest game of the season. In fact, fans are already rolling into Tuscaloosa preparing to spend Thanksgiving Day right next to Bryant Denny Stadium. The University told us, normally they open the{}RV lots on Friday, but they had such a big demand from fans, they decided to open them Wednesday. So far, we haven't found any Auburn fans, but there are{}RV loads of Alabama fans - armed with everything they need for Thanksgiving dinner.{}"We don't miss a game! We have season tickets!" Linda Crutcher, an Alabama fan told us. The Crutcher family traded their time at home in Huntsville onThanksgiving for their home on wheels this holiday - complete with their dachshunds, "Ala" and "Bama.""It's fun to take your home with you!" Tony Crutcher said."You sort of feel like you're in the old times with pilgrims!" Linda Crutcher said. "We set our picnic table up out here, I put food on it and we eat outside. I put the tablecloth on it and we bring the spread out and we just eat outside."And across the lot, travelers from Louisiana and South Alabama - are throwing up the tents, stringing up lights, and making preparations for a big Thanksgiving feast away from home this year."Smoked turkey, fried turkey, cornbread dressing, Honeybaked Ham, potato salad, turnip greens - you name it we're gonna have it!" JoAnn Lane, from Louisiana said."We're going to fry up a turkey and everybody around us is going to bring a fixin!" Karen Clement, a fan staying in an RV from Louisiana said. "We left our family home, they were kind of disappointed because we have been doing Thanksgiving at home for 35 years, but they understood, they said, mom and dad, go and have a good time!"We couldn't find any Auburn fans in the crowd just yet, but these{}RV travelers told us, it doesn't matter about how either team's seasons are fairing - all bets are off when it comes to the Iron Bowl."That doesn't matter, if Auburn can beat Alabama, that makes their season!" Lane said."Auburn is not having a good season, but you never count them out," Crutcher said.{}"This is Alabama - Auburn, this is who rules the state for the year." The University wanted us to also pass along travel information to anyone planning to go to the Iron Bowl on Saturday. They told us I-459 stays congested, and if possible use 20-59. If you do, exit 100 will lead you to Highway 216 and University Boulevard. Also, exit 89 by the Mercedes plant will take you to Highway 11 and into Tuscaloosa.
