Teen killed in fatal I-59 wreck
Birmingham Police say a 14-year-old boy was killed in a car wreck off Interstate 59 South at the 20th Street Exit Ensley.
Sergeant Dexter Cunningham of the Birmingham Police Department says a father and son were traveling on I-59 south bound when their truck left the road and flipped several times down the embankment around 10:30 AM Sunday morning. Both the father and his son were ejected from the vehicle. The son was pronounced dead on the scene.
The father spoke with ABC 33/40 on the scene. He said the victim was 14-year-old TyJuan Ard. The father also said that the brakes on his truck went out causing the wreck.
Police are still investigating the accident. ABC 33/40 will have more information as it becomes available.
