Father-son duo charged for urinal parts theft spree

Birmingham police caught a father-son duo and charged them for the recent thefts of urinal parts in Birmingham's south side.Thursday morning in the 2900 block of Clairmont Ave, task force officers stopped a green F-150 that fit the description of the perpetrators' vehicle. {}Jeffrey Barker, 44, and his son, 26-year-old Joseph Barker were arrested during the stop. Police found some of the stolen parts and say the Barkers sold other parts to local scrap yards.They each are charged with 2 counts of possession of burglar tools and 1 count of giving false information while selling metal. Each warrant carries a $15,000 bond. They were transported to Jefferson County JailThe investigation continues and could yield more charges.Police say Barkers targeted popular eateries; McAlister's, Arby's, McDonald's, Burger King, Guthrie's, and Waffle House.
