FBI looking for serial robbery suspect
Federal agents are looking for a bald bank robbery suspect, who may be involved in a string of robberies in Central Alabama. Jimmy Dawson Cunningham Junior is suspected in at least five robberies. "We will bring him to justice." Five banks robbed, in just 11 days. The FBI says this man Jimmy Dawson Cunningham Junior is the prime suspect. Paul Daymond with the FBI says "He comes in and passes a note to the teller and demands money. That does not mean he's not considered armed and dangerous by us. Because he is showing propensity for violence in the fact he's robbing these banks."The suspect never showed a weapon. The first robbery happened January 3rd at the National Bank of Commerce in Cahaba Heights. The robber counted down from 10 to 1 before taking more than five-thousand dollars. Birmingham Detective, Pat Green, says "As he entered the bank he told the teller, he had just lost everything."And from there... the FBI says the suspect started his crime spree. On January 8th, PNC Bank In Mountain Brook was robbed.. Followed by two more bank robberies on the 10th, including First Community Bank in Cullman and Regions banks in Mountain Brook. The most recent one happened Monday morning at Union State Bank in Pelham. The FBI says the six-foot two suspect has shaved his head since the first robbery.Detective Green says "The sooner we can get this guy off the street and bring him to justice , that would make a lot of people that much safer.The FBI is not releasing how much money has been stolen so far. "Be alert, be cautions anytime you go in the bank and be aware of your surroundings."
The FBI is also looking for another man suspected of robbing banks in North Alabama. Investigators are calling Cedric Lamond Hicks "The ball cap bandit". They believe he may have ties to Birmingham.
