In Anniston, firefighters remain at the scene of a commercial structure fire that broke out Saturday afternoon.

The fire engulfed the offices of Service Master, a disaster cleanup service, at the intersection of Noble Street and Third Street at around 3 p.m. today.

The fire is under control according to Anniston Fire Captain Chris Collins. He says firefighters will be at the scene throughout the night in case a wall collapses.

The{}business that caught fire on Noble Street knows all about fire. Service Master provides fire and water damage restoration services. While Captain Chris Collins says the machine shop area is destroyed, some areas were spared.

"They had a lot of personal items from houses they work on restoring in these buildings and they had a lot of equipment stored in these buildings for restoration. For us to set the wall up to stop the fire from spreading, it helped the business owner out."

Firefighters spent several hours getting the fire under control and they were able to contain flames to the backside of the two story building. Collins says "We had a couple of explosions which was probably a gas can, propane cylinder in there. But for the most part, the chemicals they use are to clean carpets. They're not necessarily a hazard."

Collins says no one was inside the building when the fire broke out, and the area could be blocked off for a day or two.

"If you work here you're familiar with the area, so you'll be able to find your way around. But, for the next day or two don't plan on coming through Noble Street right now."

Noble Street is blocked off from Fourth Street to D Street. Firefighters have yet to determine what started the fire.
