Firehouse Shelter prepares for cold weather, people in need

Freezing temperatures are in the forecast for the next couple nights. It could possibly dip into the mid to high 20s.

With this in mind, local shelters are preparing for the cold weather snap. The Firehouse Shelter in downtown Birmingham has gone into its "Inclement Weather" procedure.

The shelter is expecting more people Saturday night, who might be trying to get out of the cold.

Firehouse says it will not turn anyone away.

The Salvation Army is also ready to house people needing refuge from the cold.
