Five arrested for automotive break-ins in Hoover

Five suspects, in two separate events, have been arrested by the Hoover Police Department over the past week in relation to multiple vehicle burglaries. Hoover Detectives have obtained multiple warrants on all of the individuals.

During an interview, one of the suspects told detectives that the particular vehicles were targeted because they were unlocked, and "no one locks their cars in Hoover". This suspect came to Hoover from Mississippi for the purpose of burglarizing vehicles.

The following suspects were arrested in connection with cases on August 12 in the Ross Bridge area:

  • Brittany Hyche - W/F - age 18 - McCalla, AL - Five Warrants, Total bond $75,000
  • Michael Allen Copen III - W/M - age 24 - Tuscaloosa, AL - Five Warrants, Total bond $75,000. Copen is currently out on bond for the same type of crimes in Mississippi.

The following suspects were arrested in connection with cases on August 15 in the Riverhaven area:

  • Trammell D. Madison - B/M - age 23 - Birmingham, AL - Six Warrants, Total bond $90,000
  • Robert J. Burpo - B/M - age 23 - Birmingham, AL - Six Warrants, Total bond $90,000
  • Michael C. Goodgame - B/M - age 21 - Birmingham, AL - Six Warrants, Total bond $90,000

All suspects were transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
