In McCalla, charges could soon be filed in family court. Deputies say a McAdory Middle School student brought needles to school, and five students were stuck with those needles.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Randy Christian said the one time use needles are typically used to test blood sugar levels.

The student who brought the needles says he had brought them from home.

Christian says there is no reason to believe that the children were put at risk.
