Floor collapses during Wednesday church service, more than a dozen injured

      Authoritiesin Mississippi say the second floor of an activity center at Freedom BaptistChurch in Myrick collapsed during an evening youth service, sending dozenstumbling down and injuring at least 15 people.

      JonesCounty Sheriff Alex Hodge said that young people were attending a serviceWednesday night at the church when the second floor gave way, a drop of about12 feet.

      Accordingto the South Central Regional Medical Center, at least 15 people were treated forminor injuries and released.{}

      A16-year-old girl was taken to a Hattiesburg hospital with a possible headinjury.{} Her condition is unknown.{} Authorities say none of the injuries werelife-threatening.{}

      The cause of the collapse is notknown at this time.
