Food galore at Trucks by the Tracks

Birmingham has really embraced food trucks recently.{} The mobile businesses have been popping up all around the Magic City.{} Sunday, September 29 is the second annual event, honoring the "fast food providers." Trucks by the Tracks festival will bring 17 trucks and carts to Railroad Park for everyone to enjoy.Admission to Trucks by the Tracks is free.{} That's about double the involvement from last year.{} Some of this year's participating vendors are Melt, Cantina, Dreamcakes, Hank's Famous Hot Dogs & Italian Ice, Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q, NOLA Ice, Repicci's Italian Ice, Shindigs, Slice, Spoonfed Grill, and Urban Wings.{} Folks can dig in to all the food options from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.{} It's a sampling of what Birmingham's food truck scene offers regularly.Although the event celebrates the food trucks, it's not all about food.{} There is also music.{} Local music legend, Gip Gibson, is slated as one of the performers.Proceeds from the event will help out the park.{} Ten percent of that money goes directly to Railroad Park Foundation.{} That is the non-profit organization that runs Railroad Park.
