Foot Soldier Finder Project to be announced

The{}Metro Birmingham{}NAACP is launching a new program to{}find Foot Soldiers.

It is inviting{}Foot Soldiers{}that were taken to the fairgrounds, juvenile detention centers{}or arrested and their relatives, who wish to register their deceased Foot Soldier/loved ones with{}the group,{}to be included and recognized during the historical time of reflection{}and celebration. Hezekiah Jackson IV, President of the Metro Birmingham Branch NAACP says, "Yes, we want to know about Foot Soldiers, who helped, marched, were arrested and contributed to{}the cause of Freedom."

The event{}kicked off Thursday{}at Kelly Ingram Park.{}The program is in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the 1963 Civil Rights Movement.
