Four players are ready to make the jump from Birmingham to the big club.
Pitcher's Erik Johnson and Daniel Webb, catcher Miguel Gonzalez and infielder Marcus Semien will join the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. All four began the season on the Birmingham Barons roster.
Johnson is expected to be a part of the White Sox starting rotation, which could be an audition to be a full time member of the pitching staff in 2014.
"I would say he throws all of his pitches for strikes," said White Sox reliever Jake Petricka, who was a teammate of Johnson in Birmingham. "He throws everything in the zone. He just demands your respect when he's on the mound. He's dominant."
Semien is expected to get a chance to set himself up to be the White Sox starting third baseman in 2014. He's the eighth best prospect in the organization according to MLB.com.
