Former Center Point star Keonna Farmer leaves Auburn for UAB

BIRMINGHAM - AL — Keonna Farmer will transfer from Auburn and continue her college basketball career at UAB.NCAA transfer rules will force the former Center Point star to sit out the 2014-15 season, but will have three years of eligibility after that."We are extremely excited to welcome Keonna to our Blazer family," UAB coach Randy Norton said in a statement through the school. "She is a hometown kid that takes great pride in our university. Keonna is the full package. She is a high character person, an excellent student-athlete and an outstanding athlete. She has the opportunity to impact this program in many ways."Farmer played in eight games for Auburn last season and averaged 0.8 points a game.The 6-foot-1 forward was a two-time first team all-state and all-metro pick at Center Point High School.ESPN rated Farmer a four-star recruit coming out of high school.
