Former fire chief arrested in Blount County

In Blount County, a former fire chief is behind bars on property theft charges.{} Michael Claude Watson, of Warrior,{} was arrested by the Alabama State Fire Marshal's office on two counts of first degree property theft and one count of second degree property theft.{} The arrests came after agents conducted an investigation into the use of fire department funds while Watson was chief.{} The 45 year old was chief of the Bangor Fire Department until 2012.{} Right now, he's at the Blount County Correctional Facility on a $90,000 bond.{} ABC 33/40's Cory McGinnis will have reaction on the arrest coming up on the News at 6:00.{} Be sure to get the latest on the air on ABC 33/40 and online at
