Four charged with stealing $400,000 worth of automotive parts from the Birmingham BOE.

In September of 2012 theState Board of Education Intervention Team contacted the Office of DistrictAttorney Brandon Falls after discovering serious financial discrepancies in theBirmingham Board of Education Transportation Division. An investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the JeffersonCounty District Attorney's Office has resulted in charges against four peopleinvolving the theft of over $400,000 worth of automotive parts. Three wereemployees of the Birmingham Board of Education and one was an employee of theauto parts supplier.Warrants for Maury Pettway, {}MarcellousBlackmon, and Rodney Everson of Birmingham have been issued charging them withtheft first degree and use of public position for personal gain.

A warrant for KimberlyWatson of Birmingham has been issued charging her with theft first degree.
