Fraudulent telephone calls continue in Tuscaloosa

The Tuscaloosa police department is still receiving multiple complaints from people receiving fraudulent telephone calls requesting money.
The caller is saying he works for the Tuscaloosa police department and he is calling about unpaid tickets. The unidentified man then request that you pay your fine over the phone via a Green Dot Card or a credit card. Investigators are working on the case. They are advising you to not give out any credit card information or numbers to a Green Dot card over the phone.
The Tuscaloosa police department will never contact you and ask you to pay a fine over the phone.
