A Gadsden man was arrested this week on a felony theft charge after he attempted to sell a stolen English Bulldog on Craigslist, Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said today.
According to a release, 25-year-old Bradley Mark Bowlin allegedly stole the dog on July 16 from a residence on Highway 77 just outside of Attalla.
After reporting the theft to deputies, the dog's owner discovered the pet's picture in a for-sale ad on Craigslist. The victim recovered the dog valued at $800 by purchasing it from Bowlin for $85.
The owner then filed another report and deputies arrested the dognapper Wednesday. Bowlin was charged with one count of second-degree theft of property and has since been released from the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
