      Gadsden man dies after saving wife from house fire in Etowah County

      ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. -- Deputies and members of the Etowah County Arson Task Force continue to investigate an early morning house fire that{}claimed the life of a Gadsden man Saturday.{}Sheriff Todd Entrekin said 53-year-old Brian Stephen Geary, Sr.,{}died around 5 a.m. after failing to escape from his home located at 520 Benson Drive in Gadsden, but not before he got his wife to safety.{} An ambulance took Barbara Hilley Geary to a local hospital for treatment, and deputies said she was released later Saturday.Investigators are waiting for an autopsy to determine Brian Geary's exact cause of death. Sheriff Entrekin doesn't believe foul play was involved.{}Entrekin said investigators are still processing the scene to determine the cause of the fire.{}Deputies said the Gearys moved Kentucky to Gadsden two weeks ago, and neighbors told ABC 33/40{}Barbara Hilley Geary's brother{}lives in a second{}mobile home on the same{}property.{}The death of her husband is the second significant in just four months.{} Brian Stephen Geary, Jr., died in March in Leitchfield, Kentucky, where his parents lived before their recent move to Alabama.The trailer home at 520 Benson Drive in Gadsden where a fire killed Brian Steven Geary early Saturday, July 13, 2013.
