Gadsden police: Woman buys cigs, goes to work after being shot in the foot

Gadsden police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday at the intersection of 12th Street and Forest Avenue.

Nearly 18 hours after being shot in the foot by another female yesterday morning, the victim of the shooting finally reported the incident to police. The woman told officers that she was walking near the intersection around 5 a.m. when the suspect approached her and said, "got you." Shots then rang out and the victim was struck in the foot.

Undeterred by her gunshot wound, the victim proceeded to buy cigarettes at a nearby gas station then went home. She then attempted to go into work at an adult dance club in Attalla, but after noticing her injury, her boss forced her to go to the hospital. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Police did not say if a suspect is in custody.
