The health advocacy organization for clean air, GASP, wants citizens to get engaged and challenge industries to reduce air pollutants.
The Jefferson County Department of Health is hosting an information session tonight, March 31, about Drummond Company's Title V operating permit for ABC Coke. According to GASP, evidence shows it's one of the worst offenders in Jefferson County.
Residents of Tarrant and nearby EPA 35th Avenue Superfund Site are invited to tonight's meeting. It starts at 6:00 p.m. and will last about 45 minutes. It will be at the Tarrant Intermediate School.
GASP also launched a hotline for Alabamians who live or work near toxic pollution sources. They can report their concerns by calling 1-866-581-GASP (1-866-581-4277).
