Auburn Notebook: Chizik lifts suspension of wide receiver DeAngelo Benton

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik said after practice on Wednesday night that suspended wide receiver DeAngelo Benton has "done what we've asked him to do," and will be available to play this Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe.

Benton was suspended late last month for violating an undisclosed team rule.{} The senior has only 14 catches in his career on the Plains.

Quotes from Chizik:

When asked about Wednesday's practice, Chizik said "I feel like we've had two good days of practice in a row."{} He called the practices upbeat and energetic.

On quarterback Keihl Frazier, Chizik said he has been pleased with his response to his performance against Mississippi State.{} He also mentioned that Frazier has been putting in extra work on his own in preparation for the Warhawks.

On La.-Monroe's offensive play calling, he said "They're not afraid to go for it on fourth down.{} They're going to come in here , and they're going to be aggressive."

On the splitting of carries between the running backs, "We've worked them pretty evenly this week in terms of distribution."
