Gilley makes plea to stay out of prison

{} {} Casino developer Ronnie Gilley is now making a pitch to stay out of prison.

{} {} Gilley pleaded guilty to a role in a scheme to buy votes on a {}bingo bill. {}He could get up to 20 years in prison. {}But Gilley's attorney has filed court papers requesting six months of home confinement, three years of supervised release, and lots of community service.

{} {} The filing say Gilley is a visionary who can transform his BamaJam music festival into a tourist attraction that will spawn hotels and even a golf course.

{} {} The filing says Gilley can't do that when he's in prison.
