Governor Bentley to Discuss Alabama Hurricane Preparedness Plan

Governor Robert Bentley and Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) Director Art Faulkner on Thursday will hold a hurricane preparedness workshop for all state agency directors.

Hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30.{} The hurricane workshop will give state agencies an opportunity to discuss preparedness and response plans during a hurricane training exercise.At 9:30 a.m., Governor Bentley will hold a news conference to discuss the upcoming hurricane season and the state's preparedness plan. Governor Bentley will be joined at the news conference by AEMA Director Art Faulkner and Jim Stefkovich from the National Weather Service in Birmingham.It will be held at the Alabama Emergency Management Agency Headquarters in Clanton.
