Governor Bentley to Participate in Charger 1 Unveiling

GovernorRobert Bentley on Friday is scheduled to join leaders from the University of Alabamain Huntsvillefor the unveiling of Charger 1. It's a fusion impulse power generator thatwill lead to innovative research for deep space travel.

Innovation and research help create and sustain jobs throughout Alabama.{} Charger 1was among 15 projects that received grant funding announced by Governor Bentleyin October of 2012.{} The grants are from the Alabama Innovation Fund,which supports research andeconomic development at public colleges and universities.{} Charger 1funding was in the amount of $299,557.

Friday's Charger 1 unveiling isscheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the UAH Aerophysics Research Center atRedstone Arsenal.{} The unveiling will include officials from UAH andRedstone Arsenal, along with other state and local leaders.
