Graduate student burned after explosion at apartment building

The FBI,Atlanta Police and the Atlanta Fire Dept. are investigating what caused a firethat severely burned a Georgia Tech graduate student inside an apartment inmidtown Atlanta.

Firefightersresponded to the fire call in the 200 block of 10th Street around 4:15 p.m.Tuesday.{} Upon arrival, investigators founda man with severe burns to his chest, arms, and hands.

The FBIwas called in by Atlanta Police after it was discovered that a liquid placed ina bottle caused an explosion.{} What theliquid was and what caused it to explode is under investigation.

FBISpecial Agent Stephen Emmett tells Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB-TV that the blazeinvolved what appears to be a "possible incendiary device."

GeorgiaTech officials would not release the students name pending notification of the family.
