Greater Birmingham Humane Society Announces New Program

The Greater Birmingham Humane Society is launching a new program, Jog A Dog.

The new program encourages local runners and walkers to visit the shelter and check out an adoptable dog to go for a run, walk, or job at a local dog park.{} "

This is a wonderful opportunity for our adoptable dogs to enjoy fresh air and exercise while also getting visibility in the community,stated Kelli Holmes, GBHS Director of Development.{}

Dogs checked out will be wearing an Adopt Me vest so that people visiting the parks and trails will know the dog is up for adoption.

Dogs can be checked out during morning hours between 8 a.m. -10 a.m., Monday through Saturday and 9:30 a.m.-Noon on Sunday. Dogs can be taken to Red Mountain Park, Lakeshore Drive Running Trail, Railroad Park and Jemison Trail.
