The Greater Birmingham Humane Society is relaunching Operation Deep Freeze in an effort to ensure pets are warm in the winter weather.
The shelter is asking for donations of crates, blankets and dog houses. The items will be delivered to pets without adequate shelter.
"The best thing for pets is to bring them inside where they will be safe and warm. Unfortunately, there are many who do not understand that if it's too cold for you, it's also too cold for your pet," said GBHS Executive Director Karen Peterlin.
The shelter asks if you suspect animal cruelty or neglect, report it to local law enforcement or to GBHS Cruelty Specialist Phil Doster at (205) 369-0392 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
