Grocery store manager held up

Gadsden Police investigators are looking into an armed robbery that happened Thursday night at a local grocery store chain.{} Just before 10 p.m. police responded to a robbery call at Aldi Inc. on Hood Avenue in East Gadsden.{} The manager told police when he left the store and was walking to his car, he was approached by a masked person.{} The manager reported the suspect was wearing a red hoodie and white t-shirt and holding a silver handgun. He said the suspect put the gun to his head and forced him back inside the store, hitting him four times on the head with the gun as they were walking back inside. They went into the office, where the suspect took cash and a gift card. Police found money scattered on the ground both inside and outside the store.
