A new study suggests a bowl of Yaka Mein soup can provide some relief from a hangover.
The common name for the soup is "old sober". Yaka Mein is made of salty beef and soy sauce-based broth, with noodles, sometimes chicken or shrimp, and onions with a hard-boiled egg.
Researchers say those ingredients can combat a hangover by hydrating us and balancing our electrolytes.
Kate Patton, R.D., with Cleveland Clinic says, "It does make sense because the soup has sodium and potassium, and those are the two really important minerals our bodies need to stay hydrated."
Doctors say something like a sports drink may also help.
