Hoover and Etowah County have joined the growing list of Central Alabama counties to host National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
On this day, people can dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs safely. Medication will be collected at City Hall in the back parking lot. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Intravenous solutions, injectables, and syringes will not be accepted.
In Etowah County, the Sheriff's office and Drug Enforcement Unit is sponsoring the event. People there can drop off medication at the YMCA of the Coosa Valley. It is located at 100 Walnut Street in Gadsden. The hours there are also from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
