Hoover police: 'Impatience at the pump' led to fight, stabbing at Chevron gas station on Hwy. 150

HOOVER, Ala. -- A stabbing at a gas station in Hoover Monday that sent one man to the hospital appears to be a case of "impatience at the pump," police said today.The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. at the Lake Crest Chevron on Highway 150. According to Hoover police, a 48-year-old man approached a 66-year-old man to express his displeasure with the amount of time he was taking to pump gas. A physical altercation and subsequent stabbing ensued, sending both men to the hospital.Police confirmed to ABC 33/40 that the younger man remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The older man was taken to a local hospital for treatment to minor facial injuries. After being released from the hospital around 10 p.m., he was taken to the Hoover City Jail for questioning and later released.No charges have been filed at this time as the case has been handed over for a grand jury review.The identities of both men haven't been released.
